It's single digits and with the wind, we're hitting negative temperatures. I live in New England and every year I repeat silently, I did it to myself. I like it here, but no amount of time makes it easier dealing with the snow, the bitter cold or plastic wrapping my windows. Yes, for those in… Continue reading Recipe: Broccoli Cheddar Soup

Are you even ready?
Here's the blog post to pair with the video on the stages of change model. It's a bit more detailed about the initial studies that lead to the development of the model. I highlight some of the findings that DiClemente and Prochaska had even though the initial samples were small. As a coach , I want my client to succeed, but that also means that we need to be honest when looking at their over goals, where they are currently in their life and what they're willing to invest in making change. Not everyone is ready for big change, hell, not everyone is ready for small change either - change is scary, but scary doesn't mean impossible. You just need to give yourself time.
Catching Up
It's been about a month since I've written on here, but let's be honest, that was a recipe - that's not real writing. I've said it before on Facebook more recently, but here as well - I write when I feel compelled. I write when I feel it's the most beneficial to me. I feel… Continue reading Catching Up

There are still things I don't like such as lobster -… Continue reading Recipe: Tuna Burgers

That even if you've been practicing habits for years that you will wake up one day and magically lose them. As someone who was obese that fear is in the back of… Continue reading I Think I Found My Groove Again

My schedule this fall is pretty steady because I know which days are busy and which days I have down time. The days I have down time vary in what they're filled with, but are pretty spread out. Tuesdays are pretty light: I eat, I workout, I do homework and sometimes when my Wednesday client… Continue reading Recipe: Stove-top Lattes
Take That Jump: the fall, bagels, leaving the summer behind
The fall semester starts in 9 days. I’m feeling excited. I’m feeling anxious. I’m feeling relieved. Breakfast at Stephanie's on Newbury I’m excited about the fall because it means more flexibility. What happens when I find things in the pantry I forget I had? I start skimming through Pinterest so I can make it a fun consumable and get it out of the pantry. Today's adventure was with a can of pumpkin puree. In the fall I always have a can on hand and I won't… Continue reading Recipe: Pumpkin and Oat Bites
